AUDIOVISUAL PRODUCTIONS NUCLEUS

This nucleus operates the Omega Centauri Network’s private TV studio, situated at Osório city, RS, southern Brazil.

Develops teaching and research activities in Physics.

AIFI NUCLEUS

The Association for Uncommon Phenomena Investigations (AIFI, in portuguese) is a nonprofit skeptical organization dedicated to investigating exotic or controversial phenomena, such as ufological and paranormal events. It was founded in 2006 and its slogan is “Investigate, Explain, Divulgate”.

METEOROLOGICAL NUCLEUS

Coordinated by professor M. Sc.  Roberto André dos Santos, it operates two surface weather stations, namely, the Alfred Wegener Weather Station, at Porto Alegre city, Brazil, and Morro dos Cabritos Weather Station, at Novo Hamburgo city, Brazil. It also conducts the Potamometric Observations Program of Omega Centauri Network (POP-OCN), with volunteer observers distributed at the southern Brazil cities of Porto Alegre, Novo Hamburgo, São Leopoldo, Cachoeirinha, Gravataí, Esteio, Canoas, Dois Irmãos, Imbé, Osório, and Alegrete. The Meteorological Nucleus also publishes a crescent number of fast reference charts with meteorological information and tables, useful to weather observations. See Publications for more details.

ALEXANDER VON HUMBOLDT SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH NUCLEUS

This Nucleus manages the production of, as well as evaluates scientific papers written by Omega Centauri Network working team. If approved, the articles are free to be submitted to specialized journals. Preprints of the approved papers are available at Scientific Preprints at this site. Reprints of the final form of published papers may be found at Research Articles at this site.

RODRIGO VISONI NUCLEUS

Based in the city of Rio de Janeiro, this Nucleus investigates sightings cases of unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP’s). His coordinator, Rodrigo de Moura Visoni, is also author of two books, Francisco João de Azevedo e a Invenção da Máquina de Escrever, and Roberto Landell de Moura, o Precursor do Rádio, published by Tamanduá Press. ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION NUCLEUS

PROFESSOR LUIZ ALBERTO DE SOUZA PEDROSO

The Environmental Education Nucleus, coordinated by professor Luiz Alberto de Souza Pedroso, promotes activities and edits publications and texts focusing on the formation of an environmental and ecological awareness, in favor of the preservation and salvation of our planet’s biosphere, mainly – but not exclusively – aiming at the new generations and teachers.

Pedroso is  an oceanologist and environmental educator, retired professor at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). He has written 23 books to date, including volumes on popular science, ecology, thematic photo albums, chronicles and poems. Pedroso is also a member of the Academy of Writers of the North Coast of Rio Grande do Sul. He has held several photographic exhibitions, and was Patron of the Imbé and Tramandaí Book Fairs.
